Microsoft annouces XP end-of-life
« on: February 02, 2014, 12:44:42 pm »

Microsoft has announced end-of-life for Windows XP as of April 8th, 2014.
This is earlier then previously announced date of Aug 2014. :o

What this means for users of my software is that I will be unable to provide ongoing support for my software running on Windows XP beyond that date.
Updates to my software after that date may or may not work on XP.
If you are currently running Windows XP, you should consider upgrading to Windows 7 (at the least) or Windows 8.1 as soon as is practical.

The reason I will not be able to continue to support Windows XP is a practical matter, patches from Microsoft to address issues with the operating system, and security issues will not be addressed either, leaving users of Windows XP badly exposed. The small user base running Windows Vista and the fact that I don't have that OS cause me to drop support for Windows Vista at this time as well.

This will allow PCC and future Software developments to move forward with enhancements that require net framework versions beyond 4.0
