Members Only Section
« on: January 16, 2014, 06:28:43 am »

The Idea behind a forum is for everyone who joins to share info with others.
This is what helps it grow to be a popular strong forum.
Previously the Members Only Section was available to anyone who joined.
This I felt was unfair to those that contribute to the forum.
Contributors need some recognition besides a members status change.
Going forward the Members only section will no longer be available to newbies.
You will now need to post and raise your status to a junior member status.

Note: Other threads which members feel should be available only to contributing members may also be requested to be moved to that section.

Move requests can be made in this thread so guests and none contributors see what they're missing. :)!

How many post do I need to upgrade my member status?
Originally I had this set for 10 posts but I have since reduced this to 5.
If the lower limit  results in a inability to control spammers I'll increase it again.

Thank you for your prompt response. Is it proper for me to ask what it take to progress to the other categories?

It depends, some are based on post counts while others if your a beta tester and these don't change with post counts.
These are post count based titles:
0 posts= NonActive Newbie
1-5 posts = Newbie
5-20 post = Jr. Member
20-100 posts = Full Member
100-200 posts = Sr. Member
200+ posts = Hero Member
Most of these are default values which I can change.
I can also add member titles based on count if anyone has suggestion as these aren't set in stone.

As another incentive get help with the forum anyone that donates will get a new status which isn't reflective of counts but will allow them full access to the members only section.
