Welcome aboard Bben,
Although Authinx has been able to resurrect the X10 forums there are still issues with the servers which prevents a completely functioning AHP (with all plug-ins).
Hopefully that will change many here have moved on to other software or added it to increase the functionality of AHP (even if they have a fully functioning copy of AHP).
I hope you find the info contained here helpful.
The more you post the more info becomes visible! ;>

Hello Everyone,  (Chr)

I have been using X10 devices for many years, Wish it wouldn't have gone belly up.
Anyways, found this forum & software, downloaded & installed. The rest is testing reading & testing some more. Both my House & Garage are automated. In fact almost every light has been changed over to LED lighting.

I'm now checking out my full version of PCC Software to see just how much I can do with it. Seem like quite a bit since I also have many security cameras.

Anyways, I thought I had better post so I'm not thought of as a spam bot. I know all about that crap, as I also have many websites & Domain names for my hobbies in Lasers, Computers & Automobiles. Nothing stays stock... I'll upgrade till it fails, Then upgrade it some more LOL.  :0~

Welcome aboard.
I'm sure you'll find many uses for PCC.
The plug-in pack adds a few more abilities and  I try to add something new each winter (my programing time)
I too have converted most of my lights to LED and have seen a huge reduction in my hydro bill.

I think most guys into Home Automation also have other hobbies that keep them busy. I know I do.

Hello all!

Active x10 user for years.  I have a mix of x10 modules and Insteon 'smart' switches.  Got the Insteon stuff for couple of applications where I needed the master/slave setup that can also be controlled with x10 commands.

I currently use 'Smarthome Manager' and a 1132cu to control everything.  I don't want to have my PC on all the time.

My setup includes landscaping lights, home theater lighting, some fancy kitchen lighting (keeps the wife happy and on board with this stuff) and at Christmas time we go crazy with the lights so we don't have to run around the house turning everything on and off twice a day.

I found this forum when doing a search for x10 wifi control.  Glad I did.....

Hello - Thanks for the welcome!

I just tried to register over there, and I'm unable to.  When it asks for a 'Visual verification', there is nothing there nor is there even a blank to type it in if it was there.

I clicked 'Contact' at the top of the page and used the email address provided to let them know, but the email bounced back with a message from Gmail saying the address does not exist.  Please let them know their registration system is broken.

Thank you!

EDIT: NEVER MIND!  It seems the Verification code appears after about a minute or so if you wait.  It popped up in the other tab in Chrome while I sent the above message here!  I'm registered.

The x10 forum  is still running on a old server from what I understand and this may be why the slow response when using a newer browser.

It's nice to be here.
I am a long time X-10 user. I will try to contribute as much as I can. For start, it might be mostly with questions... But, who knows, some time a new question may trigger new ideas...

please forgive the strange english. I mostly speak french.

How true!
About 20 % of PCC options are from questions like: Can it do this....?
70% of the program is from suggestions. The rest was what I thought of! ;>
Only 1 of the plugins was created for me and it is now obsolete ::) :`)

I joined this group while seeking info on x10 components.
I was given some x10 equipment by a neighbor. Neighbor has no use for it as he knows nothing about computers.  He gave it to me as he knows I like to tinker and could maybe make some use of it.

So The following is a list of what I have
2  xc 22A B/W wireless cameras and power supplies
2  XC 18 A color wireless cams with power supplies
1  VA 11A video to usb adapter
1  TM751 transceiver module
1 VR  36A video reciever and adapter
1  ZC 15A Ninja camera base with power supply and remote control
4 MS 14A motion sensors
1UX 23A vcr controller with power supply
1 CM 19A  wireless transceiver
I have no software for this equipment other than what I could find online.
I also run windows 8 and have read that it's not compatible with some of the software these units use.
My understanding is that other than using the 1 transceiver module paired to a motion detector there is not much else I can use this for as is.
Is that correct?
Is there another system that is compatible with this equipment?
Everything is brand new and I would like to make use of what I can without spending a big chunk.
Looking for some ideas.
I will be leaving for a much needed holiday on 15th and won't be back until the 26th.
Thanks
Al

Welcome aboard
most software will work with the cm19a on windows 8 unless it is really old.
the issue is the hardware.
None of your cameras will be viewable on your PC as the va11a won't work with any thing newer then XP.
You could feed them into a monitor or tv though.
You could find a old PC with XP and you'll be good to, go however since XP isn't supported many are not supporting other software so it runs on it

Hi.  New member here.  I am hoping to learn how to use my X-10 modules and switches to their full capability.

It's good to be here and I'm sure I will learn a lot from the vast experience from the members here.
